Technology meets sustainability and innovation at Agilent’s First Future Lab Summit

Agilent Technologies recently concluded its first Future Lab Summit in Ahmedabad wherein more than 125 customers attended in person, while another 600 joined live across the globe. The event showcased Agilent’s sustainable approach with its products and services that deliver seamless and efficient analytical workflow solutions, to bring in positive development and empower lab transformations.

Agilent also launched two new products from its gas/liquid chromatography (GC/LC) mass spectrometry (MS) product lines. These instruments exhibit an amalgamation of the latest technologies including artificial intelligence and machine learning with higher accuracy, and sensitivity. The company informed that the innovative design of these equipment will help customers streamline lab analytics and enhance lab productivity with minimal downtime.

“The event showcased workshops with industry leaders and experts deliberating on holistic applications that can support end-to-end workflows in a regulated and compliant environment. These regulatory workshops were aimed at providing solutions that enable compliance with regulatory requirements.” said Dr Samir Vyas, Agilent India Country General Manager.

The pharma industry occupies a predominant share in the Indian economy and is growing rapidly. Leveraging the summit, Agilent connected with the fraternity to understand and address current market challenges for a safe and healthy future. The summit had participants from top pharma companies’ quality assurance, control, research, and development divisions across Gujarat’s regional pharma hubs.

This segment saw rounds of discussion on how Agilent is helping shape Analytical Method Lifecycle Management to ensure that methods developed in labs are future ready. The scientific audience showed keen interest on Agilent’s data integrity and informatics solutions using the Agilent compliance engine which help in fulfilling audit procedures, thereby helping achieve the laboratory’s productivity and regulatory goals. There was a round of detailed discussion on the glaring issue of genotoxic impurities (GTI) and azido impurities contamination in drugs used in the treatment of hypertension and diabetes, reviewing the current trends and future predictions, with Agilent’s leading solutions.

The other segment on Applied Markets was aimed to address the current and near-future requirements from the analytical technologies’ point of view. These workshops included key technical sessions pertaining to the food and chemicals market. It attracted audiences from the top food and dairy companies, chemical industries, and material manufacturers across Gujarat and Western India.

The technical sessions invited curiosity from the audience, especially the discussions around polar pesticides analysis using Agilent LC/MS. There was also considerable feedback on the chemical analysis workflows related to REACH/RoHS material testing. Elemental analysis using the latest inductively coupled plasma – mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) technology for food and chemical testing was also covered in depth. The session concluded with an engaging and interactive discussion on the importance of analytical sample preparation to address critical challenges with respect to food analysis.
