Glatt,a privately held company headquartered in Germany, active in the pharmaceutical, food and fine chemical industry recently inaugarated its second office in India in Delhi. Named, Glatt (India) Pharma Engineering Pvt. Ltd. the office will be home to 25 engineers, taking Glatt’s employee strength in India to 250. Uwe Höhn, Thuringian Minister for Economy, Labour and Technology alongwith Reinhard Boeber,Managing Director of Glatt inaugurated the facility by lighting a ceremonial lamp and cutting a ribbon.
“Growth in the future would come from Asia Pacific particularly from countries such as India. Glatt’s success has been phenomenal in that it has leaped beyond Europe. There is much scope for us to expand our footprint,” he said. Mr Boeber also signed a contract worth 3 million euros with Shoheb Kazi, Project Head, Aja pharma for a project to design facilities for solid dosage and sterile injections in Saudi Arabia. The 60 year old company has 1600 employees and 16 subsidiaries worldwide. The company’s Mumbai office looks after Sales & Service for Indian market for all powder processing industries.A new equipment manufacturing facility was set up in Shirur, Pune in 2013 which has an employee strength of more than 200.
