Spektus Pharma, GEBRO partner to commercialise ActraFlex globally

The partnership covers Europe, the Americas and selected Rest of World markets for the twice-daily extended-release tramadol and paracetamol formulation

Spektus Pharma and GEBRO Holding GmbH (GEBRO) have announced a global commercialisation partnership for ActraFlex, a twice-daily extended-release formulation of tramadol and paracetamol for pain management.

ActraFlex combines Spektus’ patented AmyloFlex drug-delivery platform technology with GEBRO’s Diliban tramadol/paracetamol product. The formulation is designed to provide sustained drug release with twice-daily dosing.

Under the partnership, GEBRO will lead commercialisation and supply across Europe and selected Rest of World (RoW) markets, with Spain serving as a key market, where Diliban has an established regulatory and commercial foundation. Spektus will lead commercialisation and supply across North America, South America and selected RoW markets through its network of regional commercialisation partners.

The partnership brings together GEBRO’s expertise and commercial presence in pain management with Spektus’ proprietary drug-delivery technology and global partnership network. The companies intend to use their capabilities and geographic reach to introduce ActraFlex across international markets.

“Our partnership with GEBRO highlights the potential of Spektus’ proprietary AmyloFlex technology to create differentiated specialty medicines from established products and brands. Building on GEBRO’s successful commercialization of Diliban in Europe, we see strong commercial potential for ActraFlex across the Americas and selected markets in Africa and Asia.” said Zarvaan Merchant, CEO of Spektus Pharma.

“GEBRO brings deep expertise in pain management and a strong foundation with Diliban in Europe. Together with Spektus’ established commercialisation partner network across the Americas and other international markets, we believe ActraFlex has the potential to become an important global product in pain management,” said Christian Kollenz, managing director of GEBRO Holding.

The agreement establishes a global commercialisation framework under which both companies will lead the regulatory and commercial introduction of ActraFlex in their respective territories, supported by a common product platform and shared global strategy.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
