Waters Corporation announced that VICAM, a Waters Business, received USDA-GIPSA (Grain Inspection, Packers & Stockyards Administration) certification for its Afla-V lateral flow strip test for the quantitative analysis of total aflatoxins in corn.
“We are pleased to obtain USDA-GIPSA certification for the Alfa-V. This enables official USDA export laboratories and USDA-licensed grain inspection sites to use Afla-V to verify that corn shipments comply with domestic and global regulatory limits for aflatoxins,” said Marjorie Radlo-Zandi, General Manager, Director of Operations, VICAM.
Afla-V strip tests utilise the proven sensitivity and selectivity of VICAM’s monoclonal antibodies to accurately detect and measure total aflatoxins B1, B2, G1, and G2 at levels as low as 2 ppb and as high as 100 ppb. The single dilution sample preparation procedure saves time and materials, and the test takes five minutes to develop. Digital readings are clearly displayed on the screen of the Vertu Lateral Flow Reader, eliminating any guess work about the results.
VICAM offers a full line of products for rapid detection of mycotoxins using fluorometry, HPLC, UPLC and LC/MS/MS technologies, including GIPSA certified fluorometric methods for aflatoxin, fumonisin and ochratoxin in various grain commodities.
