Zeon Lifesciences signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on their collaborative joint venture with the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) SAS Nagar, Mohali, with an intent to focus on academic interaction and research advancement in the specified fields, as well as to share facilities and expertise.
Through the proposed partnership under this MoU, NIPER and Zeon will conduct collaborative research activities at NIPER Mohali encompassing pharma technology, synthesis, analytical techniques, pharmacotherapeutics and standardisation of herbal actives and protocols adopted to comply with the regulatory milieu of the region/country concerned. NIPER Mohali has Central Instrument Laboratories (CIL), which is equipped with highly sophisticated equipment and definitely will assist in innovative outcomes of this joint research programme, a statement from Zeon said.
The objective of this collaboration is to carry out R&D projects to examine the product formulation and its development in the fields of nutraceuticals, Ayurveda and phytopharmaceuticals. Other than that, Zeon Lifesciences and NIPER will be conducting joint clinical trials as per AYUSH or DCGI guidelines that are applicable for selected formulations. Under this collaborative venture, both entities will conduct studies to compare the prevailing regulations, approaches and challenges while registering the drug products, the statement concluded.
