Thermo Fisher Scientific, the world leader in serving science, recently announced the launch of the Bigfoot Spectral Cell Sorter in India. The first-of-its-kind cell-sorting technology provides easy-to-use, high-speed cell sorting by complimenting conventional with spectral sorting and analysis.
Cell sorting enables scientists to isolate live, homogenous cell populations to answer critical questions regarding cellular changes that take place under certain conditions, stem cell differentiation and cellular response to drugs. These insights are useful in genome editing, vaccine studies, drug and toxicity screening, and cell and gene therapy development, among other applications.
The Bigfoot Spectral Cell Sorter was designed to address challenges faced by researchers, offering unique benefits including:
- Speed at scale: The instrument accelerates sorting up to 10 times faster than competitors
- Versatility of detection: Bigfoot Spectral Cell Sorter can be configured with up to nine lasers and 60 detectors, providing adaptability for both standard fluorescence detection and spectral unmixing.
- Personnel and product protection: A custom-designed, built-in safety enclosure and an Aerosol Management System (AMS) provide safety and protection in a compact footprint.
