Niramaya Research has launched an initiative “Research India” to encourage and build a medical research framework in the country. The vision behind announcing the competition is to awaken interest in new research among the students associated with the medical field and to increase their attention towards new experiments being done in the world of science.

The competition is open for all 550 medical colleges and hundreds of other Ayurvedic, Homeopathic, Dental colleges across India to participate. The organisation has so far received 100 entries from 37 medical colleges in India which includes MBBS students and even the faculties. The last date of application is 15th July while the last date of submission of the report is August 10. Three outstanding entries will be awarded scholarships of one lakh, seventy-five thousand and fifty thousand respectively.

Viveksheel  Agarwal, Chairman, Niramaya Research said, “We have invited research on two topics namely relation of cancer to oxidative stress increased by paracetamol and the second is oxidative stress increased by processed food is related to autoimmune diseases. It is our endeavour to keep introducing such topics which are of paramount importance for medical science to evolve better. We also want to increase the participation of Indian students towards their contribution to medical science by providing insightful approaches through their latest research”.

He further added that cancer is the second leading cause of death in the world today and the expenditure on treatment of autoimmune diseases arising from the deterioration of the homeostasis of the body is the most expensive. With the increase in the number of these patients, the financial condition of the families is also being affected greatly in their treatment. Therefore, finding the causes of these diseases is more important than their treatment so that new patients can be reduced. It is our endeavour to remove the shortcomings of our medical infrastructure and system through research.

More recently, in a research on medicines given in mild cases of corona by Niramay Research, it was revealed that the indiscriminate use of medicines like paracetamol, antibiotics, steroids, etc. caused formidable problems of corona.

Participants from medical institutions like GEMS Medical College (Andhra Pradesh), Government Medical College (Telangana), Father Muller Medical College (Karnataka), Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (Uttar Pradesh), Panimallar Medical College and Hospital (Tamil Nadu), Bharatiya Vidhyapeeth University and Medical College (Maharashtra), Gujarat Medical College and Research Society (Gujarat), Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research Center (Tamil Nadu), Santosh Medical College (Uttar Pradesh), KGMC Karnal, ESI PGIMSR Medical College and Hospital (Bengal) have sent their entries.
