Speaker in this video:
Keynote Address by Dr Raches Ella, CDO, Bharat Biotech
Topic: Reimagining injectable innovation: From science to scalable impact
Key Highlights:
[1] India’s healthcare model has been built on affordable access, generics, and biosimilars. However, affordability alone cannot define the future. Affordability should come from innovation, not replace it.
[2] The future lies in becoming a platform technology hub, not just a manufacturing hub. This includes investing in mRNA, biologics, immunotherapies, rare diseases, and personalized medicine.
[3] India needs a new narrative for the future — and urgently. A major gap exists between lab research and clinical application (translational gap). Strong manufacturing exists, but early-stage innovation needs strengthening.
[4] Bharat Biotech’s vision is to enable original innovation — develop its own vaccines through “platform design and innovation,” not copying, and confidently supplying them to the world.
[5] India must evolve from ‘World’s pharmacy’ to ‘World’s innovation partner,’ delivering excellence, not just affordability.
