Cabinet approves MoU between ICMR and GARDP Foundation on AMR research and innovation

The MoU will strengthen relations between India and Switzerland within the framework of international scientific and technological co-operation in the fields of mutual interest

The Union Cabinet has approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Global Antibiotic Research and Development Partnership (GARDP) foundation on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) research and innovation to strengthen the relations within the framework of the international scientific and technological collaboration and to promote cooperation in the fields of mutual interest.

India had signed the MoU in March this year.

The MoU will strengthen relations between India and Switzerland within the framework of international scientific and technological co-operation in the fields of mutual interest.

The ICMR-GARDP collaborations will include establishing a strategy and modalities for financial and in-kind contributions by both the parties to ensure the success of the joint objectives. Funding may be provided directly to the other party or to the third parties engaged in projects. All financial and in-kind contributions will be the subject of separate legally binding agreements.
