Akums signs MoU with Sharda University Agra for pharma research and skill development

Agreement covers research collaboration, technology transfer, training, and internships

Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sharda University, Agra, to collaborate on pharmaceutical research, technology transfer, and skill development. The agreement focuses on collaboration between academic research and industrial application and on preparing students for roles in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector.

The MoU sets out a framework for cooperation in research, innovation, training, and industry exposure. The collaboration brings together the academic resources of Sharda University and the manufacturing and research capabilities of Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals. The partnership is aimed at supporting pharmaceutical research and improving employability among students.

Under the agreement, both institutions will undertake joint research in molecules and drug delivery technologies. The collaboration will include technology transfer to support the conversion of academic research into pharmaceutical products. Students from Sharda University will have access to internship programmes at Akums manufacturing facilities. These internships will provide exposure to pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality systems, regulatory practices, and research and development processes. Industrial visits will also be organised to provide insight into pharmaceutical operations and industry practices.

The MoU includes plans for jointly organised seminars and technical training programmes. These activities are intended to support practical learning, technical skills, and readiness for roles in the pharmaceutical sector.

Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals and Sharda University will also work on joint project development initiatives. These projects will focus on applying academic research to product development and on addressing requirements in healthcare.

Commenting on the collaboration, Arushi Jain, Director of Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals, said, “At Akums, we strongly believe that meaningful industry–academia partnerships are critical for driving innovation and building a future-ready pharmaceutical ecosystem. This collaboration with Sharda University reflects our commitment to nurturing talent, accelerating translational research, and enabling young minds to gain real-world industry exposure.”
