Messe Muenchen India, a subsidiary of Messe München GmbH and a leading  organiser of B2B trade fairs in India, has acquired PharmaTech Expo from PharmaTechnologyindex.com (A Division of KNS Group), Ahmedabad. The acquisition strengthens Messe Muenchen India’s position in India’s  pharmaceutical and laboratory technology sectors by adding a 30,000 sqm, well-established platform focused on  pharmaceutical manufacturing, production systems and plant infrastructure.

Over the years, PharmaTech Expo has emerged as an important meeting point for pharmaceutical  manufacturers, technology providers and industry professionals across western and northern India. With more  than 750 exhibitors and over 30,000 visitors, the event brings together solutions across pharmaceutical  machinery, processing and production equipment, cleanroom technologies, utilities, packaging systems,  laboratory solutions and allied services.

Following the acquisition, PharmaTech Expo will continue to build on its regional strengths, industry relationships  and market relevance while gaining access to Messe Muenchen India’s broader industry networks, international  expertise and organisational capabilities.

Dr Reinhard Pfeiffer and Stefan Rummel, CEOs of Messe München Group, said, “The acquisition of  PharmaTech Expo fits perfectly into the analytica cluster and further underlines our long-term commitment to the  Indian market and to the development of specialised industry platforms. India has established itself as an  important pillar of the global pharmaceutical industry, supported by its strong manufacturing capabilities, growing  research landscape, high-quality standards and resilient supply chains. By combining the exhibition’s regional  expertise with Messe München’s international network and experience in organizing world-leading life science  and biochemistry exhibitions, we aim to create sustainable value for exhibitors, visitors and the wider  pharmaceutical community.”

PharmaTech Expo will take place as scheduled in Chandigarh from April 8–10, 2027 and from August 5–7,  2027 at the Helipad Exhibition Centre, Gandhinagar.

With PharmaTech Expo joining the portfolio, Messe Muenchen India will offer a broader suite of pharmaceutical  and laboratory industry platforms through analytica Lab India, PharmaCore India and PharmaTech Expo.

Together, these exhibitions address critical stages of the pharmaceutical value chain — from laboratory  research, analytical testing and diagnostics to APIs, formulations, contract manufacturing, production  technologies, plant engineering, cleanrooms, utilities and packaging solutions.

Bhupinder Singh, President IMEA, Messe München, and CEO, Messe Muenchen India, said, “This  acquisition marks a significant step in strengthening our position as a strategic partner to India’s pharmaceutical  and laboratory industries. By bringing together specialised platforms under one integrated portfolio, we are  creating a powerful ecosystem that connects technology leaders, manufacturers and decision-makers, enabling  collaboration, innovation and business growth across the sector. Our vision is to build industry platforms that not  only reflect the evolving needs of businesses but also accelerate opportunities for knowledge exchange,  technology adoption and strategic partnerships across India’s pharmaceutical and laboratory communities.”

Aarjav Shah and Ramesh Shah, Directors of PharmaTechnologyindex.com (A Division of KNS  Group), expressed that, “Over the years, PharmaTech Expo has advanced into an important interaction place  and interface zone at each of the centres for pharmaceutical manufacturers, technology providers and industry  professionals across crucial regional markets with their distinct strengths. Joining the Messe Muenchen India  portfolio marks a significant step forward, bringing together our strong industry connections with its global  capabilities and market reach. We look forward to building on this robust foundation and enhancing prospects for  exhibitors, partners and the pharmaceutical manufacturing ecosystem.”

The expanded portfolio will cater to pharmaceutical manufacturers, laboratory professionals, production and  plant managers, procurement teams, quality specialists, researchers, technology providers and other  stakeholders seeking solutions across the pharmaceutical value chain.

Each exhibition will retain its distinct identity and market focus while contributing to a connected portfolio  designed to serve the evolving needs of India’s pharmaceutical and laboratory industries.
