GCF organises three day conference on ‘Advancing green & sustainable chemistry in the pharma supply chain’
The event will feature a leadership summit, technical sessions, networking opportunities, and an exhibition showcasing innovative solutions relevant to the pharma sector
The pharmaceutical industry is increasingly focusing on integrating Green and Sustainable Chemistry into manufacturing processes and supply chains. Moving from sustainability commitments to practical implementation requires collaboration, innovation, and industry-wide knowledge sharing.
To advance this dialogue, Green ChemisTree Foundation (GCF) is organising the 5th Conference & Exhibition on “Advancing Implementation of Green & Sustainable Chemistry in the Pharma Supply Chain”, from 27–29 October 2026 at Hotel Trident, Hyderabad.
Over a decade of pharma-specific engagement
GCF has been working to promote Green Chemistry and Green Engineering in the pharmaceutical and API sector since 2012, through industry seminars, conferences, leadership roundtables, and direct engagement with pharmaceutical companies.
Key milestones include a dedicated seminar for BDMA, Hyderabad, in 2012; a pharma industry awareness seminar in collaboration with the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Government of India, and Telangana State Pollution Control Board in 2015, which brought together 152 pharma delegates; and a 2017 conference on Green & Sustainable Pharma Supply Chains, followed by a Pharma CEO Roundtable and engagement between the ACS Green Chemistry Institute Pharma Roundtable and Indian pharmaceutical companies.
In 2022, GCF organised a virtual Conference & EXPO that engaged 200+ pharma delegates from across India. Building on this sustained journey, the 2026 conference aims to further advance implementation-focused discussions across the pharmaceutical supply chain.
Advancing collaboration and implementation
The upcoming conference will focus on four key themes:
- Green Chemistry Tools for Process Research
- People, Process & Plant Safety
- Emerging Green & Sustainable Technologies
- Environmental Sustainability Management
The event will feature a Leadership Summit on 27 October and 4 Technical Sessions on the above themes on 28th and 29th October, networking opportunities, and an exhibition showcasing innovative solutions relevant to the pharmaceutical sector.
GCF gratefully acknowledges the continued support and partnership of ACS-GCIPR (American Chemical Society – Green Chemistry Institute Pharmaceutical Roundtable) in advancing the green chemistry agenda within the pharmaceutical industry. This collaboration highlights the importance of connecting industry expertise, international knowledge, and practical innovation to promote sustainable pharmaceutical manufacturing.
The conference invites pharmaceutical industry leaders, API manufacturers, R&D professionals, technology providers, researchers, and sustainability practitioners to participate in this platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration.
