Participants will be able to learn new trends and technologies for manufacturing and testing and will get insights into new technologies and processes at a glance

Indian Drug Manufacturers’ Association [IDMA], with ACG Worldwide and Sotax  will organise a series of conference on ‘New Insights in Tablets Manufacturing & Testing’ covering the essentials needed to make quality tablets. The events will be held at Hotel Minerva Grand, Secunderabad, Telengana on August 17, at BV Patel PERD Centre, Thaltej, Ahmedabad on August 18, at  Hotel Fidalgo, Panaji, Goa on August 20 and SciTech Centre, Mumbai on August 21, 2015.

Participants will be able to learn new trends and technologies for manufacturing and testing and will get insights into new technologies and processes at a glance. The workshop conducted by experts with hands-on experience, will cover why and how to develop powders to improve them for tablet production. The event will focus on a step by step explanation of each unit operation within the manufacturing process, common terminology, and practical knowledge of each topic. The main topics which will be discussed are formulation, blending, milling, granulation, drying, final blending, tableting, tablet press tooling, coating, and testing.

Participant will be able to quickly look at a formula and determine the processes necessary to manufacture it. Sessions on manufacturing operations will be delivered by experts from ACG Worldwide, Ajit Kanetkar, Vasant Shetty and P Devdas. They will cover topics like fluid bed granulation, compression of MUPS, tablet coating and powder variables in solid dosage forms.

Sessions on tablet testing will be delivered by Holger Herrmann from SOTAX Switzerland. He will speak about hardness testing: comparability of results and influencing factors. He will also talk on efficiency in physical testing: possible instrumentation strategies, lean processes, short cycle times and automation which are the keys in today’s competitive environment.

This conference will allow the participants to receive hands-on information regarding the manufacturing of tablets. Everyone within the manufacturing facility from management to the operator, including R&D, QA/AC, Technical Services, Maintenance, Supervisors, and others will benefit from our conference.
