To promote safety, quality and integrity of traditional medicines
Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India and United States Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with an aim to strengthen traditional medicine.
The government informed that the partnership would aim to promote the safety, quality and integrity of traditional medicines and botanical dietary supplements.
Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy will execute the endeavour and collaborate with USP to discover, evolve and circulate science-based standards in this field.
The MoU seeks to enhance public health in India, the US and globally by partnering to spread awareness of quality traditional/ herbal medicines, botanical dietary supplements, and their products.
