SUMMARY:Addressing sterile filter validation challenges of complex fluids | 26th August 2021
DESCRIPTION:Register Now \n\nAs biopharma processes have become increasingly sophisticated\, so have the requirements for performing process-specific bacterial retention studies. \nPall has communicated extensively in recent years on new challenges surrounding the sterile filtration of so-called\, ‘high-risk fluids’. Occurrences of failed bacterial retention studies (i.e. penetration of bacteria through the sterilizing grade filter when tested under the process conditions) are very rare. However\, when penetration has been observed\, Pall has reported that low surface tension fluids\, specifically surfactant solutions\, liposomes\, lipids\, emulsions and lipid-like solutions pose the greatest risk of allowing bacterial penetration through 0.2 µm rated\, sterilizing grade filters. \nTo understand and address the new challenges associated with the sterile filtration validation of high-risk fluids\, Express Pharma in association with Pall Corporation is organizing a webinar with the latest insights from industry experts on the following topics: \n1) Sterile filter validation of complex fluids using QbD approach (Sterility Optimization through the Assessment of Risk – SOAR program)\n2) Re-validation of sterile filtration with reference to PDA TR 26: Addressing process/product changes \nWhy Attend?\n+ Understand how sterile filter validation tests are performed\n+ Analyse how to mitigate product & process risks and maximize sterility assurance through Quality by Design\n+ Get insights on risk analysis on the re-use of filters & decision-making in tests to be carried out\n+ Hear how Pall labs are equipped to handle controlled/cytotoxic drug substances \nSpeakers:\n+ Sudhakar Nagaraj\, Principal Scientist: SLS – Global Regulatory and Validation Consulting Group\, Pall Corporation\n+ Wayne Lee\, Ph.D.\, MBA\, Senior Director\, Global Validation Services and Laboratory Operations\, Pall Corporation\n+ Anand G Ibrahimpur\, Senior Manager – APAC ROA\, Global Validation Services and Laboratory Operations\, Pall Corporation

SUMMARY:Next Generation Cell Factories: From Designer Cells to Optimized Processes | 25th August 2021
DESCRIPTION:Register Now \n\nThrough the past few decades\, delivering on the promise of biotechnology and developing cell factories has been understood to be much more than developing a strain in the laboratory\, optimizing process conditions or working on a scale up design. The quality of science ultimately determines a significant portion of the economic value of most bio-based enterprises. Bioprocess platforms designed at the intersections of synthetic biology and systems biology allow one to transcend the realms of basic science into industry. In this context\, automation and Intelligent microbioreactors play a huge role in the biodesign of both pathways and processes. \nThe panel discussion “Making the Unpredictable Predictable: Intelligent Microbioreactors in Biodesign of Pathways and Processes” is born out of the need to present insights and discuss the importance of individual aspects in bioprocess development. Eventually building up to be being more than sum of its parts\, the integration of these upstream and downstream components potentially allow us to holistically deliver on the promise of an emergent efficient and optimal bioprocess. The unique perspectives brought in by each one of you with your expertise\, would potentially highlight methods to make the inevitably unpredictable bioprocess design more predictable and highlight the promise and potential of bioprocess design platforms. \nThe webinar will also showcase the RoboLector(TM) platform as an intelligent microbioreactor designed to build next generation cell factories. \nPanelists:\n+ Dr. Vidhya Rangaswamy\, Vice President\, Reliance Industries\n+ Dr. Rishi Jain\, Assistant Director – Process Research\, Lupin\n+ Dr. Sanjay Nene\, CEO\, Innovation Biologicals and Adjunct Professor in Biochemical Engineering\, AICTE\n+ Prof. KJ Mukherjee\, Department of Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology\, IIT Delhi\n+ Dr. Rahul Bhambure\, Senior Scientist\, National Chemical Laboratory\n+ Jagadish Bennale\, Business Development Manager\, Beckman Coulter Life Sciences (Danaher Corporation) \nModerator:\n+ Dr. Anu Raghunathan\, Senior Principal Scientist\, Chemical Engineering Division\, CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory

SUMMARY:Virtual Bio Pharma Conclave 2020 - Accelerating Biopharma Innovation | 21st April 2020
DESCRIPTION:Register Now \nThe past few decades have seen the successful development of several immunotherapy based approaches for cancer treatment and several more are in the pipeline. Immunotherapy has become a reality based on multiple discoveries and better understanding of the relationship between tumorigenesis and the immune system. Immune suppression and/or development of mechanisms to evade immune surveillance are now considered as key hallmarks for tumorigenesis in many cancers. \nMore recently\, targeted therapies such as monoclonal antibody based checkpoint inhibitors and T cell based therapy such as chimeric antigen receptors (CARs)-T cells have taken center stage. \nAntibody based checkpoint inhibitor therapies act by removal of tumor induced T-cell suppression thereby resulting in T cell activation\, expansion and clearing of tumor cells. Notably\, monoclonal antibodies targeting PD1 and CTLA-4 have been approved by US FDA for treatment of multiple cancers. \nOn the other hand\, in CAR-T cell therapy normal T cells isolated from the patient are genetically engineered ex vivo and reintroduced to target specifically tumor cells. The field of CAR-T cell therapy continues to evolve and holds much promise for cancer treatment. \nOverall\, the above therapies have demonstrated better response rate in multiple cancers and resulted in better remission rates. Additionally efforts are now on to also explore combination treatments. While several challenges do exist and need to be overcome\, the future holds promise. \nIn this webinar\, the two speakers will provide overviews of the recent advancements in the field of cancer immunotherapy and novel CAR-T cell development. They will also focus on how specific technologies have been leveraged to make immunotherapy a reality. \nJoin this webinar to understand: \n\nFlow cytometry in the era of cancer immunotherapy\nNovel CAR-T development – harnessing versatility for solid tumor therapy\n\nSpeakers: Dr. Maloy Ghosh\, CSO\, Zumutor Biologics & Dr. Michael D’silva\, Senior Principal Investigator\, BBRC \nRegister Now
